Hana Kimura — Biography

Hana Kimura, born on September 3, 1997, was a Japanese professional wrestler known for her work in joshi puroresu. Her career spanned from 2016 to 2020, with significant engagements at World Wonder Ring Stardom in her homeland. She also wrestled for Wrestle-1 in Japan and gained international exposure through appearances with promotions like Ring of Honor, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, and various independent circuits in Mexico. A second-generation athlete, Hana followed in the footsteps of her mother, Kyoko Kimura, who was also a professional wrestler. On the morning of May 23, 2020, Hana shared concerning posts on social media platforms, Twitter and Instagram, featuring images related to self-harm alongside a selection of hateful messages she had received. She was tragically pronounced dead later that same day, at the age of 22. The official cause of her passing was attributed to hydrogen sulfide inhalation. By December of that year, her death was officially classified as a suicide. Hana's heritage was a blend of Indonesian and Japanese ancestry.
