About Huma Abedin
Born on July 28, 1976, Huma Mahmood Abedin has carved a significant path as an American political operative. Her prominent role as vice chair for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign marked a high point in her career. Before that, Abedin held the position of deputy chief of staff for U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, serving from 2009 to 2013. Her long-standing association with Clinton also saw her act as traveling chief of staff and former assistant during Clinton's 2008 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Abedin was formerly married to Anthony Weiner, an ex-U.S. Representative from New York, from whom she separated after a series of sexting scandals.
