Ilana Glazer — Biography
Ilana Glazer is an actress and writer recognized primarily for her work as a principal performer and co-creator of the Comedy Central program Broad City, which she developed with Abbi Jacobson. Her portrayal of Ilana Wexler on the show earned her a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014. Prior to achieving widespread recognition, Glazer honed her comedic skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, a training ground where she first encountered Abbi Jacobson, her future collaborator. A notable early credit for Glazer was her appearance in the 2013 movie How to Follow Strangers, a film that secured a significant award at the Lower East Side Film Festival. Her parents are Sandi Wexler and Larry Glazer. She shared her experience in UCB classes with her elder sibling. In 2017, Glazer exchanged vows with David Rooklin. The couple joyfully announced the arrival of their first child in July 2021. The series Broad City, in which she stars, also includes the stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress in a recurring capacity as the character Lincoln Rice.
