Jaime King is an American actress and model. During her early career in modeling and film, she was known as Jamie King and James King, a nickname from her parents because her modeling agency already represented another Jaime, the more established supermodel Jaime Rishar. Due to the confusion caused by this shared name, she has often been dubbed the "Model with a man's name." Praised by Complex magazine as "one of the original model-turned-actresses," King graced the covers of prestigious publications such as Vogue, Mademoiselle, and Harper's Bazaar. She later transitioned into acting, starting with smaller roles before landing her breakthrough part in Pearl Harbor (2001). King's first leading role came in Bulletproof Monk (2003). She then gained significant recognition for her performance in Sin City (2005), a role she reprised in the sequel Sin City 2 (2010).

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Jaime is the daughter of Nancy King, a former beauty queen, and Robert King. She has an older sister named Sandra and a younger brother named Barry. Interestingly, she was named after the character Jaime Sommers, portrayed by Lindsay Wagner in the 1970s ABC series The Bionic Woman. Following her parents' separation in 1994 and their amicable divorce in 1995, both continued to collaborate in Omaha, where they manage low-income rental properties. Jaime attended Nancy Bounds's modeling school and made the decision to leave Westside High School in 1995 to pursue modeling in New York. She later enrolled in a distance-learning program offered by the University of Nebraska. As of September 2025, Jaime King has garnered 1.5 million followers on Instagram.
