About Jane Wiedlin
Jane Wiedlin is an American artist recognized for her contributions to music and acting. She played a pivotal role as a co-founder, rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist for the influential new wave group the Go-Go's. Beyond her work with the band, Wiedlin lent her voice to the character Dusk, the drummer and backup vocalist for the fictional musical act the Hex Girls. She also achieved notable success with her own solo endeavors.
The Go-Go's rose to prominence as one of the most celebrated American musical acts of the 1980s, playing a significant part in bringing new wave sounds to the mainstream with iconic tracks such as "We Got the Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," and "Vacation." In her solo career, Wiedlin experienced chart success, with her song "Rush Hour" reaching number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her acting credits include memorable appearances as the singing telegram girl in the 1985 film Clue and as Joan of Arc in the 1989 comedy Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Wiedlin, along with her bandmates in the Go-Go's, has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Furthermore, she and the Go-Go's were welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
