Jeanne Tripplehorn — Biography

Born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn on June 10th, 1963, this American actress first graced the stage. Her early work in the 1990s included a notable Broadway appearance in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Tripplehorn made her cinematic debut as a police psychologist in the 1992 erotic thriller Basic Instinct. Her filmography expanded with prominent roles in The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995), and Sliding Doors (1998). On the small screen, she was a central figure as Barbara Henrickson in the HBO drama Big Love, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Later, she portrayed Dr. Alex Blake in the CBS crime series Criminal Minds between 2012 and 2014. Her portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the 2009 HBO film Grey Gardens earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
