Born on April 26, 1961, Joan Chen is an actress and filmmaker with roots in both China and America. Her career in China gained early momentum with her appearance in the 1979 picture Little Flower. American viewers first took notice of her talent following her role in the 1987 production, The Last Emperor. Beyond these, Chen is recognized for her contributions to works such as Twin Peaks, Red Rose White Rose, Saving Face, and The Home Song Stories.
