About Julia Ormond
Born in Epsom, England on January 4, 1965, Julia Ormond is a British performer known for her work across film, television, and theater. Hailing from Surrey, England, her mother, Josephine, was a laboratory technician, and her father, John Ormond, a computer software designer who achieved considerable financial success early in life. Julia's father departed the family when she was quite young. Her education included attendance at Guildford High School and Cranleigh School, both private institutions. She further honed her craft at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, completing her studies in 1988. Throughout her career, Ormond has received significant recognition, including the 1989 London Drama Critics' Award for best newcomer, the 1996 Nestor Almendros Award, a Laurence Olivier Award nomination in 2001, and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries in 2010.
