Julie Benz, born on May 1, 1972, is a prominent American actress renowned for her captivating performances. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayals of Darla in the cult classic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel from 1997 to 2004, and as Rita Bennett in the acclaimed series Dexter from 2006 to 2010. Her role in Dexter earned her the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2006, as well as the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009.
Benz's television career also includes notable appearances in series such as Roswell (1999–2000), Desperate Housewives (2010), No Ordinary Family (2010–2011), A Gifted Man (2011–2012), Defiance (2013–2015), Hawaii Five-0 (2015–2017), Training Day (2017), and Love, Victor (2021).
