Born Judith Carr on July 23, 1938, in Burbank, California, Juliet Anderson became a significant and trailblazing figure in adult filmmaking, widely recognized by her moniker "Aunt Peg." This distinctive nickname originated from a series of adult shorts where she portrayed the character Aunt Peg under the Swedish Erotica banner. Her on-screen "nephew" would exclaim "Oh Aunt Peg" during intimate scenes, solidifying the moniker as her most enduring identity. The daughter of a jazz trumpeter and an aspiring nurse, her early life was marked by health challenges, including childhood arthritis and Crohn’s disease, which necessitated extended periods in hospitals or on bedrest. Despite these hurdles, she excelled academically, graduating as a straight-A student from Burbank High School in 1956. She pursued art studies briefly at Long Beach State College before embarking on a move to Hayama, Japan, in 1961 with a Navy sailor, whom she married for a short duration until 1964. The subsequent thirteen years saw her living abroad, teaching English as a second language in Japan, Mexico, Greece, and Finland, alongside work as a radio journalist and in clerical roles.

Anderson entered the adult film industry at the advanced age of 39 in 1978, responding to an advertisement placed by producer Alex de Renzy while she was a student at San Francisco State University. During the "Golden Age of Porn (1969-1984)," she starred in over 70 films, including notable titles such as Pretty Peaches (1978), Talk Dirty to Me (1980), Aunt Peg’s Fulfillment (1981), and Educating Nina (1984). In Educating Nina, she took on the role of discovering and mentoring fellow performer Nina Hartley. Her signature look, featuring a short bob haircut and garter belts, complemented by vibrant, comedic performances as the insatiable Aunt Peg, became iconic. She was known for her authenticity, never faking orgasms. Under various pseudonyms, including Judy Carr, Alice Rigby, and Ruby Sapphire, Anderson also ventured into directing and producing, with Ageless Desire (1998), a film featuring couples over 50, being one of her directorial efforts. In 1985, Anderson departed from the adult industry following a dispute over the distribution of Educating Nina, which resulted in the loss of investor funds. She relocated to Placerville, California, where she worked in a bed and breakfast, performed housekeeping duties, and operated a massage therapy practice. She re-entered the adult entertainment world
