About Kairi Sane

Kaori Housako, a Japanese professional wrestling talent and actress, is widely recognized for her impactful tenure in WWE under the ring name Kairi Sane. There, she formed a formidable tag team known as The Kabuki Warriors with Asuka. This duo, along with Dakota Kai and IYO Sky, was also part of the faction Damage CTRL. Before her international success, from 2012 to 2017, she competed in Japan for the World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion, where she was known as Kairi Hojo. Adopting a spirited "Pirate Princess" persona, she achieved significant accolades in Stardom, holding the World of Stardom Championship once, the Wonder of Stardom Championship once, the Goddesses of Stardom Championship three times, and the Artist of Stardom Championship five times. Her championship triumphs were complemented by victories in the 2015 5★Star GP tournament and the 2016 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League.

In 2017, Sane transitioned to WWE, adopting the ring name Kairi Sane. That same year, she made history by winning the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament, which led to her assignment to the NXT brand. Her success continued as she claimed the NXT Women's Championship in 2018. Her exceptional performance in NXT earned her two prestigious NXT Year-End Awards in 2018: Female Competitor of the Year and Overall Competitor of the Year. In 2019, she made her debut on WWE's main roster and, as part of The Kabuki Warriors with Asuka, secured the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, holding the titles for a record-setting reign. The Kabuki Warriors were further recognized with the 2019 WWE Year-End Award for Women's Tag Team of the Year.

In 2020, Sane returned to Japan to be with her husband, serving as a WWE ambassador and trainer in her home country. Her contract with WWE concluded in December 2021. Following her departure, she rejoined World Wonder Ring Stardom in February 2022, performing under the stylized ring name KAIRI. She also competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where she held the IWGP Women's Championship once, being its inaugural champion. Sane became a free agent in March 2023 before making a triumphant return to WWE in November 2023 at the Crown Jewel event. Sane was then released from WWE on April 24, 2026.

Beyond her wrestling career, Sane has a presence in Japanese entertainment, having appeared on various game shows including Zenigata Kintarō (2011), Waratte Iitomo! (2012), Gachigase (2012), Sekai F
