Karen Philipp — Biography

Karen Philipp gained national attention in 1968 when she joined Sérgio Mendes and Brasil '66 as one of two female vocalists in the group's second version. Her debut was on the successful album Fool on the Hill, which landed in the Top Ten. Philipp remained with Brasil '66 and its follow-up, Brasil '77, until 1972 when she decided to shift her focus to acting. In the first season of M*A*S*H, she played the character Lt. Dish. Although her character was written out after just two episodes, a clip of her continued to feature in the show's opening credits for its entire run. Philipp later appeared as Robin Rollin in a recurring role on Quincy, M.E. during seasons 3 through 6. Additionally, she posed for a nude pictorial in the September 1972 edition of Playboy to promote her role on M*A*S*H.
