Clare Julia Hawes, born on February 10, 1976, is an English actress more widely recognized by her professional moniker, Keeley Hawes. Her acting journey commenced with a series of interpretations of literary works, including "Our Mutual Friend" in 1998 and "Tipping the Velvet" in 2002. Hawes achieved significant public recognition for her portrayal of Zoe Reynolds in the BBC drama "Spooks," which aired from 2002 to 2004. This was followed by a co-leading role as Detective Inspector Alex Drake in "Ashes to Ashes," from 2008 to 2010.
Her career further solidified with notable performances in Jed Mercurio's productions: she played Detective Inspector Lindsay Denton in "Line of Duty" between 2014 and 2016, and took on the pivotal role of Home Secretary Julia Montague in the 2018 BBC One drama "Bodyguard."
