Kelly Hu — Biography

Born on February 13, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kelly Hu is of Chinese, English, and Hawaiian descent. Her father, Herbert, worked as a salesman, while her mother, Juanita, took on various jobs to provide for the family. Kelly has an older brother named Glenn. She gained recognition as a former Miss Teen USA and worked as a model in Japan and Italy before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. In 1987, she landed a role on the television show Growing Pains (1985), marking the beginning of her successful journey in the industry. By January 2026, Kelly had garnered 239,000 followers on Instagram.
