Kira Toussaint — Biography

Born on May 22, 1994, Kira Marije Toussaint is a Dutch athlete known for her prowess in competitive swimming, particularly in backstroke events. She has achieved significant accolades throughout her career. Toussaint once held the world record in the short course 50 meter backstroke. Domestically, she is the record holder in the Netherlands for both the long course 50 meter and 100 meter backstroke. Her dominance extends to the short course, where she also holds the Dutch records for the 50 meter, 100 meter, and 200 meter backstroke races. Furthermore, Toussaint has set European records in the 50 meter backstroke in both long course and short course formats. Her exceptional performance was highlighted at the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup, where she finished second overall across all genders based on total points accumulated, securing an impressive eleven gold medals.
