Born Kristen Mary Houghton on November 5, 1955, Kris Jenner is a prominent American television personality recognized for her appearances on a variety of shows including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Good Morning America, The Talk, America's Next Top Model, and her own talk show, Kris. Her heritage is a blend of Native American, French, English, Italian, Dutch, German, and Scottish roots.

Jenner was previously married to the late attorney Robert Kardashian, with whom she shares four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob. Following their divorce in March 1991, she married Bruce Jenner the same year, and they have two daughters together, Kendall and Kylie.

The genesis of her family's widespread fame and the subsequent production of Keeping Up with the Kardashians can be traced back to the public release of a private video featuring her daughter Kim Kardashian and actor-singer Ray J.
