Lake Bell is a multifaceted American talent known for her work as an actress, screenwriter, and director. Her television career includes noteworthy roles in series such as Boston Legal from 2004 to 2006, Surface from 2005 to 2006, How to Make It in America between 2010 and 2011, Childrens Hospital, which aired from 2008 to 2016, and Bless This Mess from 2019 to 2020. In the film industry, she has appeared in a variety of titles, including Over Her Dead Body and What Happens in Vegas, both released in 2008, It's Complicated in 2009, No Strings Attached in 2011, Million Dollar Arm in 2014, No Escape in 2015, Man Up the same year, The Secret Life of Pets in 2016, Shot Caller and Home Again in 2017, The Secret Life of Pets 2 in 2019, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022.

Bell made her mark as a writer and director with her short film Worst Enemy, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012.
