A lifelong devotee of the Kentucky Wildcats, Mercy Academy's graduating senior Lauren Tharp is poised to trade her spectator status for a spot on the court. For years, she's been a familiar face in the stands, cheering for a parade of University of Kentucky athletes. While she counts former basketball stars like Tyler Ulis and the Harrison twins, Andrew and Aaron, among her cherished Wildcats, her own allegiance will soon be emblazoned across her chest in the iconic blue and white. However, Tharp's contribution to the team won't be measured by points scored through a hoop; instead, she'll be showcasing her prowess as a libero, specializing in her formidable defensive game on the Kentucky volleyball team.
