About Lavinia Milosovici

Lavinia Corina Miloșovici, born on October 21, 1976, is a former Romanian artistic gymnast. Renowned in the international arena, Miloșovici, affectionately called "Milo" by those in the sport, stands as one of Romania's most celebrated gymnasts and a remarkably consistent all-around medal winner. Over a six-year period, she amassed an impressive nineteen World Championships or Olympic medals. Her remarkable streak of success meant she earned a medal at every World Championships, Olympic Games, and European Championships she participated in between 1991 and 1996. She joins an elite group of only three female gymnasts, following in the footsteps of Larisa Latynina and Věra Čáslavská, to have secured at least one World Championships or Olympic title on each of the four apparatus. Miloșovici, alongside Lu Li, holds the distinction of being the last gymnasts to achieve a perfect 10.0 score in the Olympics and the final athlete to attain the exceptional score of 9.95 at the World Championships. Her contributions to the sport were recognized with her induction into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2011. Her defining strengths were her proficiency across all four events, her unwavering consistency, her enduring career, her adaptable repertoire of skills, and her capacity for leadership.
