About Leila Gomes Lopes
Hailing from São Leopoldo in Rio Grande do Sul, Leila Gomes Lopes carved out a multifaceted career as an actress, television host, and journalist. She first gained prominence for her roles in dramatic serials on Rede Globo. Later, her professional journey took a different turn as she entered the adult film industry. Lopes, a Brazilian with a background in modeling and journalism, became known to audiences through her work on Rede Globo's telenovelas before transitioning into adult cinema. Her image graced the pages of the Brazilian Playboy magazine on two occasions: March 1997 and May 2008, following her involvement in a pornographic film produced by Brasileirinhas. Tragically, Lopes was discovered deceased in her São Paulo apartment in the Morumbi district during the early hours of December 3, 2009. The cause of death was later confirmed as suicide, resulting from the ingestion of rat poison. Lopes had pursued formal acting training at the University of Dramatic Arts in Porto Alegre. During her final year there, she relocated to São Paulo to debut professionally at the Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia. Towards the end of 2000, specifically in May 2008, she joined the production company Brasileirinhas for the adult film "Pecados & Temptations." This venture sparked considerable debate. Initially, Lopes intended legal action against media outlets reporting her involvement in adult films. However, the DVD cover for "Pecados & Temptations," under the direction of J. Gaspar, surfaced, making denial impossible. She subsequently confirmed to the website EGO that she had filmed scenes for the movie, though she clarified the nature of her participation. "What happened is that I did two scenes with a single actor," she stated. "It's a period film based on Nelson Rodrigues. Next week, I'm going to go away to record the rest." Lopes' final professional engagements included hosting television programs such as 'Entre 4 Paredes' with Leila Lopes on the internet channel 'JustTV,' and 'Calcinha Justa' on 'Sexprivé.'
