About Leonor Of Asturias
Leonor, Princess of Asturias (Leonor de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Ortiz), is the designated heir to the Spanish throne. She is the firstborn daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano. Leonor came into the world during the reign of her grandfather, King Juan Carlos I. Her education began at Santa María de los Rosales School, which is also the alma mater of her father. After completing her secondary education, she pursued an International Baccalaureate degree at UWC Atlantic College located in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom. On August 17, 2023, she commenced a three-year military training program at the General Military Academy. In 2014, following her father’s ascension to the throne after her grandfather's abdication, Leonor was awarded the traditional titles associated with being the heir to the Spanish crown. These include Princess of Asturias, Princess of Girona, Princess of Viana, Duchess of Montblanc, Countess of Cervera, and Lady of Balaguer. She was formally declared heir before the Cortes on October 31, 2023, coinciding with her 18th birthday. Should Leonor eventually ascend to the throne as anticipated, she will become Spain's first queen regnant since her fourth great-grandmother, Isabella II, who ruled from 1833 to 1868. Leonor's younger sibling is Infanta Sofia of Spain.
