Chilean talent Leonor Varela has carved out a career as both an actress and a model. Her memorable performances include embodying the legendary queen in the 1999 television film Cleopatra and portraying the formidable vampire princess Nyssa Damaskinos in the 2002 Marvel Comics adaptation, Blade II. Audiences also recognize her from cinematic contributions such as The Man in the Iron Mask, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1998, the action-packed Hell Ride from 2008, and the prehistoric drama Alpha released in 2018. Varela's personal life saw a past engagement to actor Billy Zane, who shared the screen with her in the 1999 miniseries Cleopatra, a project that aired that year and later became available on video in 2001. She later found love with producer Lucas Akoskin, commencing their relationship in 2011 and exchanging vows in April 2013. The couple welcomed their son, Matteo, in November 2012. Their family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Luna Mae, on February 25, 2015. Tragically, Matteo was diagnosed with leukodystrophy, a specific form known as AGS, not long after his birth. He passed away at the age of five on November 16, 2018.
