About Lexa Doig
Alexandra Doig, known as Lexa, was born on June 8th in Toronto to a Filipina mother named Gloria and an Irish-Scottish father named David. With a passion for the arts, her parents were avid theatergoers, holding season tickets to local performances. At the young age of nine, Lexa's interest in acting was sparked after witnessing a production of "Porgy and Bess." She later made the bold decision to leave high school in her final year, venturing into the modeling and commercial industry. Lexa also co-hosted the show YTV's Video & Arcade Top 10 (1991) alongside her friend Gordon Michael Woolvett.
Her first official acting role came at 19 when she starred alongside William Shatner and Greg Evigan in "TekWar." This opportunity opened doors for her in both film and television, leading to appearances in various projects such as CI5: The New Professionals (1998), Jungleground (1995), and No Alibi (2000). Lexa rose to prominence with her major role in Jason X (2001), which is the 10th film in the Friday the 13th franchise. Shortly thereafter, she was cast in the lead role of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda (2000), portraying the advanced artificial intelligence system known as the Andromeda Ascendant.
In addition, she has made guest appearances on several well-known TV shows including Traders (1996), Earth: Final Conflict (1997), and The Chris Isaak Show (2001). Her stage work boasts productions like "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "Romeo and Juliet." In her leisure time, Lexa finds joy in reading, rollerblading, and playing RPG video games, particularly enjoying "Dungeons and Dragons." She now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, with her husband Michael Shanks, their children Mia and Samuel, and two cats.
