About Linda Gray
Linda Gray, an American performer with talents spanning film, theater, and television, along with experience as a director, producer, and a past career in modeling, is widely recognized for her portrayal of Sue Ellen Ewing. This character, the perpetually beleaguered wife of J.R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman, was central to the enduring CBS drama "Dallas." Her work on the show, which aired intermittently from 1978 to 2014, garnered her an Emmy nomination in 1981 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and two Golden Globe Award nominations. Gray's professional journey commenced in the 1960s through television advertisements. The subsequent decade saw her making guest appearances in various television series before securing the iconic role of Sue Ellen in 1978. Following her departure from "Dallas" in 1989, she appeared alongside Sylvester Stallone in the 1991 film "Oscar." From 1994 to 1995, she held a starring position in the Fox drama "Models Inc." and also featured in made-for-television films such as "Moment of Truth: Why My Daughter?" in 1993 and "Accidental Meeting" the following year. Gray revisited the character of Sue Ellen in subsequent "Dallas" ventures, including "Dallas: J.R. Returns" in 1996, "Dallas: War of the Ewings" in 1998, and the TNT continuation series "Dallas" that ran from 2012 to 2014. On the theatrical stage, Gray embodied Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate" for a 2001 run in London's West End, transferring to Broadway the subsequent year. In 2007, she took on the role of Aurora Greenaway in the initial production of "Terms of Endearment," which premiered in York before touring the United Kingdom. After the second iteration of "Dallas" concluded in 2014, Gray returned to the stage, this time as the Fairy Godmother in a London production of "Cinderella."
