Lisa Robin Lyon, born May 13, 1953, and passing away September 8, 2023, was a prominent figure in American female bodybuilding and a notable photo model, recognized as a trailblazer in the sport. Her physical measurements recorded in October 1980 included a bust of 37A, a 24-inch waist, 35-inch hips, a height of 5 feet 4 inches, and a weight of 120 pounds, with brunette hair. During that period, her strength was evident as she could deadlift 225 pounds, bench press 120 pounds, and squat 265 pounds. While frequently credited as the inaugural female bodybuilder featured in Playboy, a distinction she held with her October 1980 appearance, stripper and fellow bodybuilder Kellie Everts actually preceded her, appearing in a pictorial titled "Humping Iron" in May 1977. Lyon also ventured into acting, with roles including Mathilde in the 1983 film Three Crowns of the Sailor, Pilar Jones in the 1984 bodybuilding drama Getting Physical, and Cimmaron in the 1986 low-budget feature Vamp, which also starred Grace Jones. In the creative process for the Marvel Comics character Elektra, artist Frank Miller initially drew inspiration for the character's visual design from Lisa Lyon. Lisa Lyon's life concluded at the age of 70 due to stomach cancer, at her residence in Westlake Village, California, on September 8, 2023.
