Lisa Winters — Biography
Lisa Winters, born Marie Perry on March 6, 1937, in Pompano Beach, Florida, gained fame as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month in the December 1956 issue. Her iconic centerfold was captured by Bunny Yeager, who took notice of Winters while she was hurrying to catch a bus. Due to her shyness, Winters exclusively posed for Yeager, opting not to work with male photographers. Although not officially recognized until 1960, she is often considered the first Playmate of the Year by Playboy editors, owing to the overwhelming fan mail she received. Despite her popularity with both Playboy executives and readers, Winters declined multiple opportunities to pursue a full-time career in show business, continuing instead to contribute to Playboy pictorials for a while. In addition to her modeling career, she served as a secretary for Hugh Hefner at Playboy's Chicago offices. Winters appeared in two films: her debut was Bunny Yeager's Nude Camera (1963), which she filmed with her photographer, and her second role was in Intimate Diary of Artists' Models under her birth name, Marie Perry. Both films are categorized as R-rated due to their nudity. Winters is currently enjoying retirement in Florida.
