About Lorena Herrera
Born Lorena Herrera de la Vega on February 18, 1967, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Lorena Herrera is a Mexican actress. Her image graced the pages of Czech Playboy as Playmate of the Month in March 2012. The family relocated to Mexico City, marking the beginning of her career in the fashion world. She achieved considerable success in Mexico and garnered international recognition, appearing in advertisements throughout Mexico and South America. Despite this modeling acclaim, her name remained largely unknown to the broader public. As a model, she was recognized with the "Look of the Year" award in Mexico.
Herrera then transitioned into the realm of low-budget Mexican cinema. Her acting career, which commenced with soap operas, has since spanned over fifty films. A pivotal moment occurred when producer Emilio Larrosa, connected to Televisa, offered her a leading role in his telenovela "Muchachitas" ("Young Girls"). This series proved to be an immense success throughout Latin America. Subsequently, she was cast in the highly popular telenovela "Dos mujeres, un camino," portraying the mistress of a villain. Though her time on the show was brief, joining mid-season and her character meeting an untimely end before the finale, she captivated audiences, emerging as a significant sex symbol across Mexico and Latin America.
Lorena Herrera has since appeared in numerous other telenovelas, including "El premio mayor." In "Lola...Erase Una Vez," she took on the role of the villainous stepmother, Monserrat. Beyond acting, she is also a vocalist, having released several Mexican music albums and toured extensively in Mexico and the United States. Playboy Mexico has expressed interest in featuring her nude, a publication she previously appeared in under the pseudonym "Bárbara Ferrat" in the December 1987 issue. She has also produced various calendars showcasing her in sensual poses. On the Univision program "El Gordo y la Flaca," Herrera was notably featured in a bathtub scene with host Raul De Molina. She has expressed a fondness for singing, though acting remains her preferred pursuit. Her professional collaborations include working with producers such as Carla Estrada, Emilio Larrosa, and Pedro Damian. More recently, on the show "Mentiras y Verdades," she voiced her dissatisfaction with working on novelas with Emilio Larrosa after "El Premio Mayor," citing her assigned antagonist role and a perceived diminishing of her character's presence and dialogue.
