Lorraine Bracco is a prominent American actress recognized primarily for her role as psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi on the acclaimed HBO crime series The Sopranos, which aired from 1999 to 2007. Her career breakthrough came when she portrayed Karen Hill in the 1990 Martin Scorsese classic Goodfellas. Bracco's professional journey began in France, where she worked as a model and also starred in a number of Italian-language films during the 1980s.
