About Margo Dydek
Małgorzata Teresa Dydek-Twigg, universally recognized as Margo Dydek, made her mark as a professional basketball player hailing from Poland. Her towering stature earned her global renown as the world's tallest professional female basketball player. Throughout her career, Dydek commanded the center position, competing for various franchises within the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Beyond her playing days, she also lent her expertise as a coach for the Northside Wizards in the Queensland Basketball League. Her distinguished service was acknowledged with the Polish Gold Cross of Merit in 1999. Tragically, on May 19, 2011, while expecting her third child, Dydek suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at her residence in Brisbane. She remained unconscious and passed away eight days later, on May 27, 2011.
