Marion Le Pen — Biography
Marion Maréchal, born Marion Jeanne Caroline Le Pen, a French conservative political figure, gained public recognition as Marion Maréchal-Le Pen between 2010 and 2018. Her political lineage is deeply rooted, being the granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, the architect of the National Front (later rebranded as the National Rally), and the niece of Marine Le Pen, who subsequently led the party. Maréchal herself was a member of the National Front, representing the 3rd constituency of Vaucluse in the National Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Her entry into parliament at the age of 22 marked a historic moment, making her the youngest parliamentarian in contemporary French political annals. Following the 2015 regional elections, where she secured the most successful outcome for a National Front candidate, she assumed the role of Leader of the Opposition within the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. In 2017, Maréchal opted not to pursue re-election to the National Assembly and stepped down from her regional council position. In 2018, she established the Institut des Sciences Sociales, Économiques et Politiques (ISSEP), a private educational institution. Her political journey continued in 2022 when she became affiliated with Éric Zemmour's Reconquête party. She led the party's slate for the European Parliament in the 2024 elections. However, her tenure with Reconquête concluded on June 12, 2024, when Zemmour dismissed her from the party after she encouraged voters to back National Rally candidates in the 2024 snap legislative elections.
