A striking figure with vibrant red hair, a curvaceous physique, and a shapely form, Marli Renfro carved out a career as a professional stripper and glamour model. Her image graced the pages of numerous men's magazines throughout a period spanning the late 1950s into the mid-1960s. Publications such as "Ace," "Beau," "Adam," "Follies," "Gala," "Modern Man," and "Escapade" all showcased her. Notably, Marli also achieved the distinction of appearing on the September 1960 cover of "Playboy."

At the age of 23, Marli Renfro was enlisted by Alfred Hitchcock to serve as the uncredited body double for Janet Leigh's character, Marion Crane, specifically for the iconic shower murder sequence in the seminal horror film Psycho, released in 1960. Leigh herself asserted in multiple interviews that she performed the majority of the shower scene, with Renfro's involvement reportedly limited to the moments when Marion's body is being enveloped in plastic by Anthony Perkins' character. Beyond her notable role in Psycho, Marli's filmography includes a significant part in the soft-core Western film Tonight for Sure (1962), which was helmed by a nascent Francis Ford Coppola.
