Martha Smith, born Martha Anne Smith on October 16, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, is a noted American nude model and actress. Occasionally, she is credited as Martha L. Smith. In July 1973, she gained recognition as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month, with her centerfold photographed by Pompeo Posar. Smith pursued her education at Michigan State University. She is known for her role as Babs Jansen, a sorority girl in the film National Lampoon's Animal House, and has made numerous guest appearances on various television series. Additionally, she was a regular on the adventure series Scarecrow and Mrs. King, starred in 15 episodes of Body Language, and frequently participated as a panelist on The $25,000 Pyramid. Smith's titles as Playboy's Playmate of the Month include: Playboy USA in July 1973, Playboy Italy in September 1973, Playboy Germany in October 1973, and Playboy France in April 1974.
