About Megan Mullally
Born on November 12, 1958, Megan Mullally is an American performer known for her talents in both acting and singing. Her career began on the stage in Chicago, before she relocated to Los Angeles in 1985. Once in California, she started taking on supporting characters in various film and television projects. Mullally made her entrance onto the Broadway stage in 1994 with a role in Grease, and has since participated in numerous Broadway musicals.
Her most widely recognized role, for which she is arguably best known, was Karen Walker in the television sitcom Will & Grace, alongside Debra Messing. She portrayed this character from 1998 through 2006. Following that, from 2006 to early 2007, Mullally took on hosting duties for her own talk show, The Megan Mullally Show. Since then, she has made memorable guest appearances on popular television shows including Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, and Boston Legal, as well as an episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine that earned a GLAAD Award.
In 2010, Mullally took on the role of Lydia during the second season of Party Down. Currently, she can be seen as Chief in the Adult Swim series Childrens Hospital, and she also frequently appears as Tammy Swanson on the NBC show Parks and Recreation. For her work as Karen Walker on Will & Grace, Mullally garnered seven consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, securing wins in 2000 and 2006. Her performance also earned her four Screen Actors Guild Awards and four Golden Globe nominations.
