About Melissa Hill
Born Lorrie Kizama on January 8, 1970, in San Francisco, California, Melissa Hill is a former American adult film actress and director. The eldest of three siblings, she spent her formative years in the Bay Area. Her dedication to ballet spanned 17 years, and she further shared her passion by teaching it for five years following her high school graduation.
Her entry into the adult film industry was facilitated by fellow actress Kaitlyn Ashley. Hill made her debut in 1993, at the age of 23, and went on to appear in over 200 films. Notable among her work are Penetrator 2 (1995), for which she received the AVN Best Actress award in 1997, Dreams of Desire (1996), earning her the AVN Best All-Girl Sex Scene award in 1997, and Bad Wives (1997), which secured her the AVN Best Supporting Actress award in 1998. Her career saw her working with prominent studios such as Vivid and Pleasure Productions.
Hill was recognized for her distinctive look: a slender 5'4" frame, vibrant red hair, captivating blue eyes, and a naturally balanced 36C-24-36 figure, unadorned by tattoos or piercings. Her contributions to the industry were acknowledged with an XRCO Unsung Siren Award nomination in 1998, and she was later honored with inductions into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2014 and the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2015.
Beyond her film appearances, Hill also graced the pages of magazines like Club, Hustler, and High Society. Her presence extended to mainstream cinema with roles in Orgazmo (1997), Beyond Fucked: A Zombie Odyssey, and Measure X.
Audiences often remarked on her ability to stand out from the prevalent aesthetic of the era, with one fan noting her "elegance was unmatched" in Penetrator 2. She was described as a "graceful performer with subtle allure" by AVN in 1997. A 2024 X post highlighted her as a "90s star who stood out with her red hair and blue eyes," while a 2025 X post praised her as an "Amazing performer in the Greatest era," referencing films like Body Music 2 and Hothouse Rosie. The Rialto Report further emphasized her "ballet-honed poise and understated charisma," cementing her status as an icon of 1990s adult cinema.
Hill, who identified as an environmentalist, retired from hardcore performances in 2000. She cited reaching a professional plateau, a disinclination to age on camera, and an unwillingness to undergo plastic surgery as reasons for her departure. In a 20
