Meredith Eaton, born on August 26, 1974, is an American performer who stands four feet tall, a characteristic she embraces by calling herself a "short-stature actress." Her career includes notable television work, such as her portrayal of the lawyer Emily Resnick in the CBS drama Family Law. This role marked a significant moment as she became the first actress with dwarfism to hold a regular position in a prime-time American television series. She also appeared as Bethany Horowitz in recurring capacities on ABC's Boston Legal and on CBS's NCIS, and later as Dr. Carol Wilson.
Eaton's roots are on Long Island, New York, where her mother worked as a clinical social worker and her father served as an administrative law judge. Her educational journey took her to Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. There, she was actively involved in the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and completed her undergraduate studies in 1996 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, including a minor in theater. Hofstra University recognized her achievements in June 2007 by honoring her as their Alumnus of the Month. Furthering her academic pursuits, she obtained a master's degree in clinical psychology from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University, achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
