Miley Ray Cyrus, who was originally named Destiny Hope Cyrus, was born on November 23, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee. She is an accomplished American singer and actress whose parents are Tish Cyrus and country music performer Billy Ray Cyrus. As the eldest daughter in her family, Miley has a younger brother named Braison and sisters named Noah and Brandi. She was married to actor Liam Hemsworth until their separation in 2020.

The moniker Destiny Hope was chosen by her parents, who felt confident she would achieve significant accomplishments in her lifetime. Her childhood nickname "Smiley" emerged from her frequent smiling as an infant and was eventually shortened to simply "Miley."
