Miriam Gossner — Biography
Miriam Neureuther, who was born Miriam Gössner on June 21, 1990, concluded her career as a competitor in biathlon and cross-country skiing for Germany. Her athletic achievements include a silver medal from the Olympics in cross-country skiing and two world championship titles in biathlon, all secured as part of team competitions. Renowned for her swift skiing capabilities, she earned two junior world championship titles in biathlon in 2008 and 2009. Gössner's participation in the 2009 Nordic World Ski Championships saw her contribute to Germany's silver medal-winning 4 × 5 kilometre relay team. At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, she secured a silver medal in the 4 × 5 kilometre cross-country skiing relay. She shifted her focus back to biathlon for the 2010–11 season, achieving three top-three finishes during her inaugural full season on the Biathlon World Cup circuit. At the 2011 Biathlon World Championships, Gössner clinched the gold medal in the women's relay. The German team, with her participation, successfully defended this world championship title in the 2012 women's relay. Gössner's first individual victory on the World Cup circuit came in December 2012.
