Morgan Ortagus, a familiar face on American television and a former financial analyst, also brought her expertise to the political arena. Her most prominent government role was serving as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State from 2019 to 2021, during the tenure of President Trump. Before this, Ortagus contributed to the government in other capacities, including a position as a deputy attaché and intelligence analyst within the United States Department of the Treasury, and as a public affairs officer at USAID. Her experience in national security was evident when she worked as a contributor for Fox News before stepping into her role at the State Department. Beyond her public service, Ortagus is also an officer in the United States Navy Reserve. She has founded POLARIS National Security, holds a co-chair position with the Women's Democracy Network at the International Republican Institute, and sits on the board of advisors for the China Center at Hudson Institute. Married with one child, Ortagus continues to make media appearances, notably on Fox News programs such as Gutfeld!. As of August 2025, her presence on Instagram has grown to include 127,000 followers.
