Naomi Seibt — Biography

Naomi Seibt is a German political figure known for her online presence as a YouTuber and her association with the far right. She has gained particular recognition for her stance against climate change and her public disagreements with climate activist Greta Thunberg. For a period ending in April 2020, Seibt was affiliated with the Heartland Institute, an American conservative think tank that promoted her as a counterpoint to Thunberg, dubbing her the "anti-Greta."

Her academic background includes graduating in September 2017 from Gymnasium St. Mauritz Bischöfl, a Catholic secondary school. During her time there, she demonstrated academic prowess by winning first place in physics in a local "Students Experiment" competition within the Jugend forscht junior division, and securing second place in mathematics. Seibt identifies her political philosophy as libertarian and anarcho-capitalist.

A 2020 assessment by the Neue Zürcher Zeitung characterized Seibt as a "right-wing Youtuber" whose video content challenges climate science. Her reach expanded significantly in 2024 when Elon Musk amplified her videos on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. Musk retweeted a video from Seibt in which she urged CDU leader Friedrich Merz to form an alliance with the AfD party rather than a German center-left party like the Greens, accompanying the retweet with the statement "Only the AfD can save Germany."

Furthermore, Seibt has faced accusations of promoting white nationalist ideologies on X. This has involved her direct interaction with groups such as QAnon and associated accounts that disseminate conspiracy theories. She has also publicly supported individuals linked to white nationalist movements and their viewpoints. Her online activity on X has also been cited for spreading disinformation, including numerous unfounded claims related to COVID-19 and climate issues, often in coordination with far-right and white nationalist online communities across various platforms. Research from academic and journalistic sources has highlighted connections between her ideological framework, encompassing climate change denial, white nationalism, and participation in culture war narratives, including elements of Islamophobia. In 2020, she was also identified as a purveyor of disinformation and an endorser of far-right conspiracy theories promoted by QAnon-related groups. In November 2025, Seibt announced her intention to seek asylum in the United States, citing section 208 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
