About Paige Bueckers

Paige Madison Bueckers, born on October 20, 2001, is a professional basketball player from the United States currently playing for the Dallas Wings in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Prior to her professional career, she played college basketball at the University of Connecticut (UConn) within the Big East Conference. Affectionately known as "Paige Buckets," Bueckers attended Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota, where she was distinguished as the top recruit in her class by ESPN and earned national honors as the high school player of the year.

During her rookie season at UConn, Bueckers made history by becoming the first freshman to earn the title of national women's player of the year, playing a pivotal role in leading her team to the Final Four. Unfortunately, she faced significant challenges as she was sidelined for most of her sophomore year and her entire junior season due to knee injuries. Nevertheless, she returned to help UConn reach the national title game in 2022. As a redshirt junior, Bueckers contributed to UConn's success in returning to the Final Four, ultimately claiming her first national championship and being honored with the Wade Trophy in her senior year.

In college, she achieved the remarkable feat of being a three-time unanimous first-team All-American and holds the record for the highest scoring average in UConn history at 19.9 points per game. On the international stage, Bueckers has secured three gold medals with the United States at youth competitions, including a standout performance at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, where she received the Most Valuable Player award. She also earned a gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in 3x3 basketball and has represented the senior national team in 3x3 competitions. In 2019, she was honored as the USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year.
