Born on May 14, 1994, Pernille Blume is a Danish athlete known for her prowess in short-distance freestyle swimming. Her Olympic journey began at the 2012 London Games. Four years later, at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, Blume reached the pinnacle of the 50-meter freestyle, claiming the gold medal. She also contributed to her team's success in the 4x100-meter medley relay, earning a bronze medal for her efforts in both the preliminary heats and the final, swimming the freestyle portion. Blume continued her Olympic presence at the 2020 Tokyo Games, where she secured another bronze medal in the 50-meter freestyle.
