About Pilar Fogliati
Pilar Fogliati, born María del Pilar Fogliati on December 28, 1992, is an Italian talent known for her work as an actress and filmmaker. Though she entered the world in Alessandria, her parents, originally from Rome, were visiting for the Christmas holidays. Fogliati spent her formative years in Mentana, a town situated close to Rome. Her family history includes a paternal grandmother who sought refuge in Argentina, having fled Poland.
Fogliati's journey into the performing arts began with her training at an amateur drama school, which she later followed with a formal education at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts. After a series of roles on the stage, her cinematic career officially launched in 2016 with an appearance in Fausto Brizzi's film, Forever Young. Her talents have also been showcased on the small screen; she held the leading role in the Rai 1 medical drama Cuori and starred in the Netflix comedy series I Hate Christmas.
In 2022, Fogliati ventured into directing and screenwriting with the anthology comedy film Romantic Girls, a project where she took on the challenge of portraying four distinct characters. This multifaceted performance garnered her significant recognition, including a Nastro d'Argento award for best actress in a comedy film and a Globo d'Oro award for best actress. Her success continued into 2024, when she secured a second Nastro d'Argento for best actress in a comedy film, this time for her role in Romeo Is Juliet.
