Rachel Bonnetta — Biography
Hailing from Canada, Rachel Bonnetta has transitioned from the world of sports broadcasting to the spotlight of stand-up comedy. Her career previously saw her as a reporter and a television personality for the NFL Network in America. She began her tenure with Fox Sports in 2016, initially fronting the digital program @TheBuzzer. Subsequently, she took on hosting duties for Fox Bet Live, formerly known as Lock It In, on Fox Sports 1, and also presented the Visa Sunday Live Show, a weekly NFL game highlights compilation, on Facebook.
Prior to her arrival in the United States in 2015, Bonnetta held the position of brand ambassador for the MLS team Toronto FC. During the years 2012 through 2015, she was also the face of the children's program The Zone on Canada's YTV. This experience paved the way for her to host, at the young age of 23, Major League Soccer's daily programs MLS Now and Off Topic with Rachel Bonnetta. These shows originated from New York City in late 2015 and early 2016, preceding her relocation to the West Coast six months later.
In August of 2021, it was revealed that Bonnetta would serve as the executive producer for a comedy series on TBS, which was described as being "loosely based on her real life in the sports broadcasting world." Not long after this announcement, she rejoined the NFL Network, focusing on content related to legalized sports betting and appearing on the NFL's digital platforms, including NFL.com and the NFL app. Her responsibilities within the NFL Media group were diverse, encompassing hosting, contributing, and developing material across various outlets. This included a role on NFL Network's NFL GameDay Morning, hosting NFL GameDay View, stepping in as a fill-in host for Good Morning Football, and making appearances at major events like the Super Bowl, NFL Honors, and the NFL Red Carpet. Bonnetta departed the NFL Network in March 2023, reportedly due to cost-saving measures, and embarked on a new career path as a stand-up comedian.
