About Rachel Riley

Rachel Riley is a prominent British mathematician and television host. She is best known for her role as a co-presenter on the Channel 4 daytime puzzle program "Countdown" and its comedic late-night variation "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown." After completing her degree in mathematics, she made her television debut on "Countdown" at the age of 22. Passionate about making mathematics and science more accessible, she has also co-hosted "The Gadget Show" on Channel 5 from 2013 to 2014, as well as "It's Not Rocket Science" on ITV in 2016. In 2013, she participated as a contestant on the BBC’s celebrity dance competition "Strictly Come Dancing." Following her time on the show, she entered into marriage with her dance partner, Pasha Kovalev, with whom she has two children, since their marriage in 2019. As of January 2025, Rachel enjoys a substantial following of 720,000 on Instagram.
