Standing at six feet tall, Sahara Sands navigated the fashion world in San Francisco. Her path intersected with that of adult film icon Nina Hartley at a human sexuality workshop. During their discussions about the adult entertainment industry, Sands harbored doubts about her modeling career's sustainability and found herself drawn to pornography, an interest sparked by viewing films with a former boyfriend.

Relocating to Los Angeles, Sands soon ventured into the adult film realm, marking her debut in 1992. She briefly stepped away from the industry in 1994 to start a family, but her career eventually resumed, concluding with her retirement in 2005. Sands became recognized for her participation in anal scenes.
