Samantha Mathis — Biography
Born on May 12, 1970, Samantha Mathis is an American actress who has also held a significant position within a labor organization. Her mother was the actress Bibi Besch. Mathis embarked on her film career with a role in Pump Up the Volume, released in 1990. Her cinematic work includes memorable parts in FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992), Super Mario Bros. (1993), The Thing Called Love (1993), Little Women (1994), The American President (1995), Broken Arrow (1996), American Psycho (2000), The Punisher (2004), and Atlas Shrugged: Part II (2012). More recently, she has been a familiar face on television with recurring characters as New York City Councilwoman Justine Feraldo in The Strain and as Sara Hammon, the Chief Operating Officer of Taylor Mason Capital, in Billions. From 2015 to 2019, Mathis also served as the Vice President, Actors/Performers for SAG-AFTRA.
