Sarah Jessica Parker, born on March 25, 1965, is a prominent American actress and television producer. Over a career that has spanned more than fifty years, she has showcased her talent in various theater and screen productions. Parker’s work has earned her several honors, including six Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2022, Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 most influential people globally.
Parker made her theater debut on Broadway at just 11 years old, appearing in the 1976 revival of The Innocents. In 1979, she gained acclaim for her performance in the title role of the musical Annie. She transitioned to film with significant roles in the 1984 dramas Footloose and Firstborn, followed by a string of successful movies in the 1990s, such as L.A. Story (1991), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Ed Wood (1994), and The First Wives Club (1996).
Her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO comedy-drama series Sex and the City (1998-2004) catapulted her to international fame. For this iconic character, she won two Primetime Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Parker revived the role in the films Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010), as well as in the revival series And Just Like That... (2021-present).
