About Sarah Silverman

Sarah Silverman is an American stand-up comic, performer, and screenwriter. She gained initial recognition through her work as a writer and performer on NBC's Saturday Night Live during season 19, which aired between 1993 and 1994. Subsequently, she created and starred in The Sarah Silverman Program, a Comedy Central series that aired from 2007 to 2010. Her performance on this program earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Beyond this flagship project, Silverman has appeared in television shows including Mr. Show and V.I.P., and has taken roles in numerous theatrical films such as Who's the Caboose? from 1997, School of Rock in 2003, Take This Waltz released in 2011, A Million Ways to Die in the West from 2014, and Battle of the Sexes in 2018. She lent her voice to the character Vanellope von Schweetz in both Wreck-It Ralph in 2012 and its sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet in 2018. Her lead performance in I Smile Back, released in 2015, resulted in a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2010, she published her life story titled The Bedwetter, which she later transformed into an off-Broadway musical presentation in 2022. Her comedic material frequently tackles subjects considered socially inappropriate, exploring racism, sexism, homophobia, political matters, and religious subjects, often using satirical or emotionless delivery where her character appears to champion these viewpoints.
