Serenay Sarikaya — Biography

Born on July 1, 1992, Serenay Sarikaya is a celebrated Turkish actress and model. Her career gained significant international recognition through her captivating performances in television series such as Lale Devri, Medcezir – a Turkish adaptation of the popular American show The O.C. – Fi, and the fantasy series Şahmaran. Academically, she honed her craft by graduating from the theatre program at Istanbul's Fine Arts High School.

Sarikaya's acting journey commenced at the tender age of fourteen with a supporting role in the 2006 film Şaşkın, followed by an appearance in Plajda in 2008. Her first leading role came in the children's fantasy series Peri Masalı that same year. A pivotal moment arrived with her breakthrough performance as Sofia in the crime comedy Adanalı, which aired from 2008 to 2010. She has also shared the screen with Nejat İşler in the films Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor and İkimizin Yerine. Since 2019, Sarikaya has captivated audiences with her role in Alice Müzikali, a theatrical musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. Her talent has not gone unnoticed, earning her widespread critical praise and multiple awards, including two prestigious Golden Butterfly Awards.

Her early forays into the spotlight included a beauty competition at fifteen, where she was honored with a special jury award at the European Youth Beauty Competition. Later, at the Miss Turkey 2010 pageant, Sarikaya secured the position of first runner-up. Beyond her acting endeavors, she has lent her presence to numerous commercials and has become the prominent face for several well-known brands. In recognition of her influence and style, GQ Turkey named her Woman of the Year in 2014.
