Shae Marks grew up primarily in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she developed a tomboyish personality according to her Playmate Profile. Around her tenth birthday, her family relocated to Peachtree City, Georgia, near Atlanta. Throughout her high school years at McIntosh High School, she participated in soccer, tennis, swimming, and cheerleading. Following graduation, she enrolled at the University of West Georgia as a journalism student but eventually left college and returned to New Orleans. At age twenty, she was spotted at World Gym in Houston, Texas by Playboy scouts. Just one month later in October 1993, she traveled to Los Angeles where she met her future husband during the flight, completed a test photoshoot for the centerfold section, and was subsequently accepted as a Playmate. She achieved the title of Playmate of the Month in May 1994. Throughout her time with the company, Marks served as a traveling representative, visiting international locations including Hong Kong and Denmark. She appeared in the 1995 Playboy production "Real Couples: Sex in Dangerous Places" alongside fellow Playmate Carrie Westcott. In an interview featured in the video, both women disclosed that they had been intimate the night before filming and experienced strong attraction to one another. Marks married in 1998. Following her initial pictorial, she underwent breast augmentation surgery but later had the implants removed. She subsequently transitioned into acting with guest appearances on television series including Married... with Children, Renegade, Viper, and Baywatch. Additionally, she appeared in Molson Beer advertisements and modeled for Frederick's of Hollywood, Venus Swimwear, and various other catalogs. In 2005, she retired and shut down her internet websites, expressing her desire to move away from Hollywood's social scene to focus on her family with her husband and two sons. Her heritage includes Cherokee, Irish, and French ancestry.
